Recently we showed you pictured of this white giraffe. These new National Geographic pictures show a very rare sighting of a blonde penguin. The penguin was spotted yesterday in a chinstrap penguin colony in Antarctica.
Though the penguin looks like an albino, the bird actually appears to have isabellinism, said penguin expert P. Dee Boersma of the University of Washington in Seattle. The condition is a genetic mutation that dilutes pigment in penguins’ feathers.
It looks like it’s quite content to be different!
